1995 XJS ABS Module
Hey Fellow Owners,
My ABS light stays on in my Jaguar, I took it to the dealership, they told me I needed a new module. I was quotes about $2,300 from them. I found a remanufacter on Ebay. BBA REMAN. I removed what I thought was the abs module by "ATE" from my car. I sent it in and now 3 weeks later they are telling me, "we have never seen a ABS module that looks like this", its not the onw from your car". Is that possible, someone please tell me the exact location of the module, attach a pic if possible. The help would be great, as this is a fustrating issue, and causing me to fail inspection.
Thanks,
Steve

The electronic module is located in the trunk. I don't think I've ever sold one of these. Did the dealer supply you with a part number or can you wrangle one out of them?
follow the brake lines from the master cylinder to the abs valve block, the abs module attaches to the valve block. Its under the hood I dont remember which side but remind me and Ill look tommorrow, I know we have one in the shop. And I dontr know what state you live in but in Texas a ABS light does not fail a state inspection since you still have conventional brakes, and THOSE are whats on the inspection, not the abs
Thanks Ken and "Brutal",
Hey Ken, they didnt give me a part number, and they are rather far from me, can you tell me where exactly in the trunk its located, so I can pull it and give you the part number. As for Brutal, thats the part I pulled, I will post a pic when I get home. I live in Washington, DC, where we have (1) government inspection station ran by DC DMV, and they are very strict, they fail you for any warning lights lit, "low washer fluid", anything. Its a pain, but I have no other choice, I just hope I dont have to buy a new module. Thanks Again.

The electronic control module appears to be on the driver's side of the trunk towards the cabin area. I tend to agree with Brutal and the part you already pulled. Those tend to fail and not the electronic modules.
And, bear in mind, I'm just a simple parts guy. Brutal is a tech at a dealership. Listen to him first! I can tell you what we sell the most of, he actually fixes things.
