Default 1996 xjs 2+2 front seat belt

I am looking for some help on how to remove the seat belt
rail that the front seat belt attaches to.

There is the front bolt which is easy enough and then the
rod runs back under the rear seat. Nothing is obvious and
nothing in the manuals (at least that i could find).

Any help would be appreciated.

I think it is the same as the pre-facelifts. If so, unbolt the rail, and lift it up a bit at the bolt end, then twist it round, and the other end, which is just poked through a hole in the vertical panel under the front of rear set, can be jiggled free.

The rod is just bent at 90° where it goes under this back seat panel, to prevent it coming out except when unbolted and jiggled/twisted.

Trentaiken, Are you removing the belt? I put a piece of rubber hose on my rail to keep the belt from sliding so far back which makes it a lot easier to reach to put it on.
