Default 1996 XJS/Trailer

I know this is crazy but has anyone every pull a very small travel trailer with their XJS.

Their is one for sale down the street and it matches the colors of the XJS......White with Cranberry Conv. Top.

I used to pull my Harley with my Merc 560SL w/ absolutely no issues... Much larger engine but about same HP.

What do you think, probably have to beef up rear suspension......maybe something with the cooling.....here in Florida!!

As always your comments are appreciated.

i think the engine and trans would be fine with it, cooling system, hard to say i know the v12's can struggle to keep cool as it is. i know the xjs does not have a towing rating and the gvwr does not leave much room once you account the weight of the car. finding a hitch for the xjs might be challenging. but if the cooling system is in top notch shape and the trailer loaded is say 1500 lbs or less with a 10% tongue weight i think you would probably be ok. the cooling system is probably going to be your limitation.

Thanks Easy Rider.

I can't imagine this thing weighs more than 1000Lbs.

I'm thinks air bags or something beefed up in the back and maybe another cooling fan for the front radiator-trans cooler up front.

Thanks

There was a Jaguar factory towbar available and the owners manual states a towing capacity of 1500kg, 3300lb, no ball weight is specified though.

Rule of thumb is ball weight would be 10% of trailer weight.
