Default 6.0 Fuel Injection Rail Hose Replacement & Ferrules

I am looking at replacing the hose between the fuel rails on my 6.0 v12. The hose is larger then the hose on the 5.3 HE rail. Jaguar Fuel Injector Service http://jaguarfuelinjectorservice.com...%20pricing.htmhas a great write up on how to replace hose and rails however I can't seem to find the correct sized brass Ferrules EBC3074 for the 6.0. Part no. EBC3074 | .Hose termination sleeve parts from Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Anybody know of where I can find some suitable replacements?

Being 6 years after your request I guess this reply hardly meets the quick descriptor but did you have any joy in finding parts for the fuel rail?

I am currently refurbishing my 95 6.0 L XJS and have run into a black hole when it comes to info about the FI system. The parts seem quite different and I have yet to see anyone else commenting on them or information about the rebuild process.

Thought I would try for an existing thread prior to starting a new one.

Cheers, Hale

OK, I'm going to reopen this old thread. The fuel rail on my 1995 6.0 is beginning to seep at one of the injectors and on one of the crossover lines. Does anyone have any tips on renewing this rail or has anyone had one done by a specialist? There are kits available but none include the ferrules for the crossover lines. The injectors probably need cleaning and an option would be to send the entire assembly to a shop familiar with this fuel rail.

Just reuse the old ferrules. They are much larger than the 5.3 version, and less easy to destroy. Some people carefully cut the hose with a razor blade, but I just like to burn it off. After you take the fuel rails off the car, removing all the injectors, and removing the fuel pressure regulator, and cutting the hoses short with the ferrule still there… hit it with a propane torch. It will turn the remaining hose stub into dust. Then the ferrule falls right off. Hit the whole thing with some spray paint in your back in business.

New injector O-rings are a wise investment.

I used brass ferrules from Milton in Chicago. They have both styles, the small end ones for the fuel injector ends and larger ones for the hose ends on the fuel rail/fuel pressure regulators. The brass looks very sharp.

Thank you both for the responses. I'll look into the brass ferrules.

If you have a propane-type solderer with a blade atachment, the blade very easily opens up the rubber and it comes out of the ferrule anddoff the barbs very easily.

Has anyone done how-to sequencing posts on removing the 6.0 fuel rail, replacing hoses, wiring etc?
I've watched the camp chaos chronicle videos for 5.3 v12s, which are very useful but I want to drive my car (1996 XJ12) this spring having done a lot to it recently, don't want to wind up waiting for parts etc. Trying to get all my research done before i touch anything....

I have this supplier for the hose to each injector and already have the hose for the fuel rail connectors.

G'day Oliver,

The individual injectors on your X305 V12 don't have hoses they have an "O" ring at each end and plug into the inlet manifold and also plug into the fuel rail sockets with a small metal clip to hold them in place.

The only hoses involved are two crossover hoses, one at the front of and one at the rear of the two sides of the fuel rail.

The feed and return fuel lines have threaded fittings and viton seals and attach to the forward ends of the fuel rail.

See pic.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Cheers Jeff,

I've got the cross hoses, was going to take the fuel rail off to clean up, check the wiring, put in new spark plugs and wires and probably tart up polish the intake manifolds which are very dull. Anything I should look out for outside of the 5.3 info?

G'day Oliver,

My engine room was covered in a slimy sort of inhibitor, probably from when it was shipped to Oz by the previous owner who bought it in the UK, so I had to remove pretty nearly everything and clean up the lot, manifolds included.

No I can't think of anything else except a general cleanup.

Cheers,
Jeff.

If you’re taking the manifolds off, see if anyone near you does vapor honing. My powder coat guy does it. It’s a very fine sort of water blasting with a fine grit.
