Default '88 rear side bumper bolts????

What in the heck wrench size do these take? 13/32??

10MM is too small, 7/16" is too loose. 3/8" is way too small.

Personal experience- ‘88-91 bolts to body are 5/16-24, with a 1/2” head. Two bolts with nuts are 5/16-24, with 1/2” head.
Bolts that retain the rubber pieces all have a 7/16” head; they tend to get rusty which makes the wrench a tight fit. Try a good quality 6 point wrench, put a little PBlaster on the nuts and wiggle the wrench on.

0 BA?
You need to explore the Whitworth/British Standard sizes to determine if this could be a possibility?
I know the XJ40 and XJS used 5/16 Whit in a few locations (battery cables) and seemed to be the last Jaguars to use this measurement.

These are the bolt heads inside the trunk, no rust.

They look OEM based on the blue paint on these. They have integral washer flanges, typical body bolt. I knew about the 5/16"-24 part from the replacement chrome shelf i previously obtained.

Yes, i did the blaster on the threads under the bumper, that allowed me to loosen the bolts with a 10MM socket that "barely" engaged the bolt heads.

They will be replaced with normal 1/2" head bolts, flat washers and 3M strip caulk sealant.

Google tells me 13/32" is an archaic head size, used for special purposes.

In my experience there is no paint on the bolts or the oval washers, just a black sealer. The head is a conventional hex head, grade 5 markings. Someone has been there before….

Well, its not the first weird thing i have found on the car. (I have lost count)

It is an H&E convertible conversion.

And come to think of it, blue isn't its original color, so some P.O.s painter took the time to spray the inside of the trunk, even behind the carpet, blue, and re-glue the carpet on.

Probably weird bolts and trunk paint done by H&E; after all there is a lot of disassembly and paint involved when you hack the roof off…..
