Anyone know if this model year had a key with chip? Need to get duplicate, do I need to go to dealer?

No chip in any XJS keys.

 

Not sure about the '92 key, but my '90 key is this odd round design that I feared no one could copy. I found Triple "C" Motor Accessories (www.triple-c.com / 888-854-4081) at a car show and they were able to copy my key for $41 inc shipping AND they gave me the code in case I ever need to have it copied again. Much cheaper than the dealer I'm quite sure!

i bought my jag in Kentucky and when i bought it they told me they had lost the key for it and called the jag dealer in Nashville tn. and got a new key and cut to the vin number from them i believe they said it was under 20 bucks.
