92 xjs v12 thermostat location?
Hello all. first post.
Where is the thermostat on my car? Is it difficult to change?
I'll summarize history of coolant problems:
1) started overheating in florida summer
2) replaced lower hose and fluid
3) continued to overheat
4) recognition that electric fan wasn't working
5) rigged electric fan to run all the time
6) moved to northern virginia
7) temp. gauge needle never moves out of the blue
8) put a switch on the hard wire to the electric fan
9) when electric fan switched off, car still runs very cool
10) NOW I'm thinking thermostat is staying open.
11)ALSO thinking if I replace the thermostat, but not the relay, my car will overheat in the hot virginia summers after I shut the engine off.
Any thoughts?
Location of thermostat?
Thanks!
P.S. Someone else did the relay bypass job, so I need to know which relay it is and where I can find it on the car (and best place to buy parts from). Now I'm out of breath.

they are relatively easy .. the car has2 of them .. open hood.. you will see 2 .. hoses about 2 inch in diameter they go into the front of the engine to a aluminum housing both sides.... you will have to remove air cleaners.. and you will see them .. 3 bolts hold the housing together .. on both sides..
