93 4.0 fan clutch fan
Among other items my shop is replacing is the fan clutch and fan, both absolutely toast. he replaced the fan clutch and then called me to say he cant find a replacement fan. It is white plastic, My searches have come up with zip, nada, nil. Any help?
Not sure why your workshop can't get the fan. It's available new from Jaguar or other OEM / aftermarket suppliers.
If your car still had the original yellow fan, it was well overdue for replacement and you're lucky it hadn't shattered. The fan was changed to a black one over 20 years ago as the original yellow ones were prone to blade microcracks.
Just pop along to the Jaguar parts website or one of the aftermarket ones.
Good luck

Paul....THX as always. Took your advice and found one on Parts Geek $40, Eurospares brand.
This is 3rd replacement (220K on car)! Grenaded in a way I've never seen, lucky it only took fan. Sheered right off the clutch.
Merry Xmas!

Clearly the XJS gods were looking down on you if it just shattered only the fan! Very lucky! I've seen blades punch a hole through the bonnet and make a terrible mess of the engine bay.
I've not heard of the Eurospares brand. Hopefully they are good quality. Maybe try and ask them who is the manufacturer? A genuine Jaguar black fan is about £250 and most of the OEM ones being retailed are still about £130.

Result of clutch/fan replacement... the black 7-blade fan and new clutch are in and operating beyond expectations. 20+yrs of mixed driving and temps (AZ can be brutal) I've never had the temp gauge sit below absolute center. Now, I watch as the needle slowly climbs to mid-point before center. I anticipate AZ summer driving will be less stressful. THX for always passing on great info, ref's and insight.

Glad it's gone well!
The minor gauges on facelift XJSs are never that good as the instrument ribbon cable and earths deteriorate. However, that reading on the gauge seems very low. Maybe try and get some temp readings at the thermostat housing or check that the stat is isn't jammed open.
Cheers
