Hi guys.
I thought it was about time I replaced my fan clutch as I’m pretty sure mine is the original from when the car was built. Also going to replace the old yellow fan at the same time. These just arrived from David Manners I’m quite impressed with the fan as it’s made by Borg Warner so should be good quality. The clutch looks well made as will and does feel so much different to the one on the car. I will let you know how it goes.

New fan and clutch fitted. Bloody fiddly job but it’s done. Yellow fan looks good can’t see any cracking. The clutch on the other had was knackered. Leaking oil and sort of notchy feel and also spun the same when testing either hot or cold. New one totally different 1/4 turn cold just one blade when hot. My old one is the original and done 60k miles so my advice if you haven’t changed yours you really ought to.

I'm in the middle of replacing mine as well. Any suggestions on an easy way to tight the clutch to pulley bolts when reassembling? How to hold it still and get to the ones around back?
Also, I had a mini-panic attack when removing the fan that I rotated the engine backwards as the pulley slipped. Couldn't start the car as lots of bits were off. Thanks Grant for easing my worries there to the unlikeliness of it. Figured I'd mention it here for any one else down the line as paranoid as I am. Imagine breaking the engine when changing the fan. The pain!
A quick update. OMG what a difference this has made to the car. I can now hear when the fan comes in (with the hood off) before the change definitely not. This sounds like it’s going to suck the radiator out of the front of the car when hot. Temperature gauge is a lot more stable now sitting under the N with an IR temperature on the front A bank thermostat housing (I painted a Matt black spot for accurate readings) reading around 87c also the auxiliary fan didn’t come on where it has in the past. As you know I am now using Evans Waterless Coolant so expect higher temperature readings which I am getting at the rear of both banks of around 95 - 105c. I will be fitting one of these when it arrives https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334544361...mis&media=COPY
so will be able to keep an eye on things.
