Some ideas on troubleshooting this would be great. I have a 93 convertible with the 6 cylinder. About every 100 miles or so the transmission fail light comes on and the car goes into limp mode. If I stop, put the car in park, shut it off and restart, the light goes out, and the car is fine. The tranny otherwise seems to be fine. It's done this now about 5 or 6 times, and each time, the restart cleared the fault. I have notices that the light comes on more frequently with the Sport Mode option engaged. Thoughts? Thanks.

 

unfortunately my BL manuals don't go up that far so I can't really help you here. Need to find out what will cause faults and figure out which one is most likely.

is a 93 obd? obviously scan it and see what the fault is if you can.

does it feel like its slipping or anything?
