I just got my 93 XJS back from the mechanic and his testing come up with that the MAF was not working properly. The volm testing showed it was off it's specs. Anyways all the research I did on MAF cleaning and replacement stated that the MAF is not able to be cleaned and must be replaced. After buying a used rebuild one off the internet, I pulled the old one apart (opened it up) and found the 2 small wires that could be cleaned with MAF cleaner.
I know that with some american cars, if you clean those wires, it improves the electrical output and sometimes improves performance.
My question is, has anyone ever opened up a XJS MAF and clean those wires to get improved operation.
