ABS pressure ball availability
Hi there,
I've read here before, that the Teves ABS System needs a working pressure ball in Order to work properly. If I press my brakepedal 4 times the pump turns on and builds up pressure
I assume the pressure ball isn't working right. Are they still buyable? If so, what is the parts number?
Cheers
Damien

25528382 is the acdelco part that is identical to the jag part for 1/4 the price. They are listed all over online but there was a nationwide back order apparently.
I found mine from a Chevrolet dealer their website is karlautoparts.com.

they are still available from Jaguar, but are not ' cheap ' whatever that is, JLM 1907 @ £170 plus VAT ( for the XJ40 but will fit the XJS )
the one from the XJ40 also fits , and can be got from breakers, but no guarantee that they will work like a new one
getting one from the US will be expensive , again , whatever that means to get a working braking system

The Lincoln Mark VII had a Teves system as well, and the accumulator ball was always one of the more sought-after pieces.
If the pump cycles after four stomps on the pedal, you're still in good shape, but an ounce of prevention and all that. If the pump fires every time you step on the pedal, then you might want to prioritize the ball.
As I recall, replacing them requires that you pump the brake pedal something like 50+ times with the car off to alleviate the pressure in the system before removing the accumulator.

Pretty sure you can get it refurbished by these guys in the UK:

Just wondering.....
Doesn't GM and/or AC Delco operate distribution centers in the UK and/or continental Europe?
I have to think there is *some sort* of GM presence over there that would allow you guys easier and more affordable access to "GM stuff" like the accumulator ball
Cheers

you would think so , wouldn't you
however, as it is the UK, and wider Europe, they hike the prices compared to the US
I recently rebuilt my GM400 box, and imported all the parts from the US , as it still worked out half the price than buying in the UK
