Default AC Climate Control Panel Fuse (1994 XJS)

After searching all day, I give up!

Can anyone tell me where the fuse is for the lighting (bulbs) in the AC Climate Control Panel (that surrounds the radio) on a 94 XJS? The panel itself works but the illumination stopped after I, like a fool tried to tighten one of the bulbs while the ignition was on. Im certain I blew the fuse as I saw a spark.

I have searched everywhere with no luck including the factory electrical manual.

Any help much appreciated.

Richard

SOLVED:

When I shorted out the bulb, it burned out "something" in the climate control plugin that the climate control panel plugs into. Luckily, I had a spare. The bulbs now work on the panel. I do not think there is a fuse. It is very stupid for Jaguar not have it fused.

This happened to me what exactly did you burn can you help me out with more descriptive info?

1995 might be different from 94 but I looked into my plug I don't see anything burnt.

I had to replace the "AC Panel Control Interface Module" which is behind the control panel. I am attaching mine with the note I wrote on it. There is one currently on EBay for $29.99. Hope this helps! It was one of the most frustrating things I had done working on my cars!

Good luck!

PS Part # LHD7693AA. Also, mine looks perfect as well at the plugin. No smell of damage either. I am assuming something was "shorted" inside!

Thanks, this looks promising.

Looks like the center console has to come off to remove, I had pushed it back a bit and the module came out.

I do see a burnt resistor, I am going to replace it and as a backup buy from eBay.

Sounds excellent! Could you shoot some pics of the burnt resistor, part, and replacement? I could possibly save my damaged one. My email:
