It’s just gotten hot enough here in Georgia to need AC and I noticed on my 92 that the AC blowing warm. Pulled out the gauges and saw a vacuum on the low side which suggested a restriction or stuck expansion valve so new valve on order while I took things apart. And here’s what I found—desiccant beads in the expansion valve and more in the line to the condenser. Plus some sort of fiber, not sure what it is. These are not all the beads I found but that line was completely clogged and it took forever to unstick. Blew out the other lines and Evap and condenser and eventually got them clear. anybody seen this before? Does Jaguar pack their desiccant like an ancient musket with the beads first and then packing material??🤣
Was the dryer new or were you using the one that was on the car? As you may well know, the dryer should be replaced whenever the AC system is opened up and taken apart. I have been doing the AC on my cars for years now and I have never seen the dessicant leaving the dryer and travelling through the system like that. If the dryer was new, the other scenario would be that it was faulty when it was made. I would still change out the expansion valve though.
