thanks again for your help doug i just came out of recovery at hospital and found you had answered me tell me this would my heat work if the amplifer wasntnt

 

I screwed around with it and it suddenly fixed itself.

I only had air coming from the lower vents or from the defrost vent. The air felt heated all the time. From this thread I did some checking. No whirring sounds from motors actuating flaps. I replaced fuse behind side panel and nothing changed. I checked the heater control valve and it wasn't moving when I changed temperature settings on slide and control knob. I turned the car off and I manually moved the lever to the opposite position. The air from the vents seemed to get hotter and, this being summer, I moved it back. I started the car and was pulling it into the garage when I heard a clunk from inside the center dash. The system suddenly started working. Air temperature changes and the air now flows out of the center vent when cooler temperature is called for. My air conditioner is not currently wired so I am not getting cold air but I am able to control air flow and shut off the lower vents and heated air.

No @#$% clue how it started working and don't have high hopes it will stay working.
