Alarm won't shut off - helppppp!
Have been having problems with my alarm and door lock system not activating properly from my fob for quite some time now w. my '94 4.0 coupe. I was reading on an earlier thread tonight about how the problem is usually a low fob battery. I took mine apart and checked it (an A23), and it only had about 1/4 voltage left in it. No wonder it was malfunctioning. I tossed the battery, put the fob back together, and started to head to the store for a new one. However, when I went to open my driver's door, the alarm went off (even though it was nor armed beforehand or the doors locked). It has been going nonstop. I tried turning the key to Position 1 in the ignition nine times, like I have done on some of my other Jags, and the alarm still won't shut off. I can't disconnect the car battery, b/c I can't find my tool kit, on top of this.
HELPPPPPP!!!!
HELPPPPPP!!!!
Use the valet key. Turn the key 3x- slowly - to the start position. Don't start the Jag. If you ever get the boot open, check the security system fuses. I have a 93 XJS coupe. Same issues years ago. Removed the entire security system. Got too expensive buying batteries. Fob, now, is of no use. Everything is manual.
