Default Alternator upgrade

I have a Bosch 14383 - 115 Amp alternator that I'd like to replace my alternator with. I have several complications to deal with.

1. No fan. No Pulley.

The new alt does not come with a fan or pulley. The ones from my OEM alternator will not fit. The shaft on the new Bosch unit is much too large. I'm going to take it to a local alternator rebuilder and see if they can provide me a fan and pulley. If not, I'll try to locate these online. Any tips here are appreciated.

2. Too many connections.

The new unit has 3 connections. My old unit, has only a spade and a single heavy gauge lead.

I am assuming that the spade goes to the "W+" on my new alt, and that the heavy lead with an eyelet goes to "B+" on my new alt.

What, if anything, do I need to connect the "D+" on the new unit to?

Also, If I were to want to provide a supplemental ground for the alternator, can I just go from one of the body bolts to the chassis? Can I just use heavy primary wire?

Here's a pic.

Anyone done this particular replacement before?

D+ connects to the dash light

W outputs an AC voltage proportional to alternator speed and is not used in your case. This can be used in a diesel application for tacho

For clarity, this is what the spade connector on the wire from the loom must be connected to.

Yes. The spade connector on the loom should go the D+ terminal on THIS alternator.

The W terminal on THIS alternator is not used.

Thank you both very much! I really appreciate it!

I dont understand how this information was not easily searched, but I suppose most people just reconnect the existing harness.
