Default Antitheft devices

Hello
I don't have antitheft devices on any of my vehicles but there again none of my vehicles are what is usually listed as highly prone to being stolen.
That said, I just discovered that my insurance company may be surcharging me a bit for not have a "professionally installed after market antitheft device or tracker".
So I started to wonder about the merits of installation of one.
It appears that use of the tags from Apple or Google don't rate with the insurance company though of course, it is easy to put one somewhere in the vehicle.
Has anyone had a professionally installed tracker put into an XJS? Any recommendations one way or the other?
Meanwhile I am attempting to check with the insurance company what the charge is for not having the device in the car, and what kind of device merits losing the insurance surcharge.
Regards Bill

Slightly tongue in cheek, but do you use an iPhone?

If so, pay a friend a dollar to hide an Apple AirTag behind the carpet in truck. You now have a "professional installed" tracking device. Replace it annually yourself.

Just an idea.

an Apple AirTag is a great idea. If I remember correctly, they aren’t too much money. Maybe I should put one in each of my cars.

You can also find a video on U-tube showing how to dismantle and disable the beeper in the airtag so that a thief won't be alerted to the fact they are being tracked.
