Atmospheric Catchment Tank
Hi all,
During lockdown I thought I would deal with a small spot of slightly knobbly rust near the bottom of the front wing. After sanding and treating I ended up with a few small pinholes through the wing so off with the inner wing guard which revealed yet more rust which luckily I think I have just caught in time.
I had to remove the atmospheric catchment tank to clean everything up and made the mistake of leaving the feeder hose dangling thinking nothing would come out with the engine standing. Having left it a day I returned to find some slight spillage of coolant so yet more cleaning up with the wife's hair drier. Then plugged the feeder hose into one of father-in-laws catheter bags - perfect fit and looks so funny taped to the front wheel. Don't know how the system works but the coolant seeps out and then gets sucked back in again as ambient temperatures drop. Clever!
There wasn't much coolant in the catchment tank but if I clean it out should I put it back dry and let the car fill it or put some new coolant in it and if so how much.
Thanks for reading and stay healthy.
Cheers,
LeeP
