Default Boot Emblems re-manufactured, Yeehaa!

Hi all,

A friend of mine owns a high-end automotive graphics company.

He traced my emblems, imported into his software, tweaked them and applied them to the original plastic structures in five minutes.

Came out really well and I couldn't have asked for more. It has really tidied up the rear including the Large JAGUAR words directly underneath the boot handle.

Very happy!

The second image is the old V12 emblem I purchased off Ebay last month for $20.00

It now looks excellent.

--------------------------------

If anyone wants any he will sell a double set for $75.00 USD including Shipping worldwide.

(The set will include the XJS, H.E or V12 badges and the JAGUAR wording under the boot lid handle)
You will need to put them on yourself. Instructions will come with set.

Cheers Craig

Looks great. Can he remake them for the doot/trunk facelifts. It seems that the V12 is unobtainable now ?

If I understand your original post your friend is making an overlay from chrome vinyl that is applied to the old emblem, he is not actually making a new emblem is that correct

Hi Swayne, yes you are correct.

Quite amazingly they appear original.

Cheers

Now, if someone would 3D print the emblem we’d be set!

Anyone else ever notice that the font Jaguar chose makes it look like “VI2” or V eye 2? That 2 is very oddly shaped as well.

Slightly OT, but were the in-bumper brake lights stock on the '84?

I have an '87 V12 and don't have those.

Thanks,

John

In UK models, at least, these are fog lights, activated by the final position of the main light switch. They are not wired to the brake lights.

It should be ok for the long haul, but will let you know if I have problems!

The quality of these vinyls these days are pretty darn good.
