Brake Pad Grease - Yes or NO - to stop squeaks

I have never done car pads before, so do you recommend brake pad grease for the back side of the pads?

If so ....what?

I have always used a copper based grease. Copperslip in the UK. Never had any problems.

The rears do not squeak; but the handbrake pads will unless the bronze forks are good and are located properly. I would never put grease anywhere near brake pads.

Not in this lifetime.

Had some Front squeakers, and Pad compound was always the culprit. A SMALL chamfer on the leading edge of the front pads does wonders, and by the time its worn away, the relationship between pad and rotor is all warm and fuzzy.

Lack of use, oops, that will give some weird noises.

Some brands come with a "sticky" type pad on the backings. If so, leave it there and install and enjoy.
Mostly, those have caused issue in my fleet, as being too thick to slide in, so I scrape it off.
The joys of motoring.

Me too. I use EBC Redstuff pads, and the plastic backing is too thick if not removed, no squeaks anyway. These pads come pre-chamfered too!
