Brake warning light (Not hand brake)
Hi guys,
My 'brake' warning light flickered on and off today. What does that mean? Not the hand brake, the other light that just says BRAKE. My car does not have ABS.
Any ideas?
Thanks again

Sometimess the low fluid level switch (inside the master cylinder cap), or associated connections, play up as well. Item #2 in the illustration linked below

Ever since I got my '89 -- going back about 6-7 years now -- every time you step on the brake, a relay clicks, the ABS and Brake warning lights come on for like a half-second, and then they go back out.
System works fine otherwise, though. #OldJaguars

On a non-ABS car, in theory the only thing that can trigger the brake red warning light, once the engine is running, is the float switch in the master cylinder reservoir. You may have low fluid, or you may have a duff switch. Outside that, an electrical fault.
