Default C34388 throttle link bushing Installation

Good evening all,

I was thinking that it would take two minutes to install these bushings on the throttle linkage. I could not get close to getting them on. I greased them, boiled them to make them softer, but no go.
Should be simple, but any ideas? Also, it looks like the installation would change the idle setting on each side.

Thoughts or advice?

Thanks!

Just put mine on today...had to "modify" the angled end a little on the grinder/razor blade and used channel locks with a nickle over the non flared end to keep from damaging it as I "squeezed" it in place, a little electricians cable pull gel also helps (always keep a bottle in the workshop!). Really too hard a material, my TR-6 uses a larger version and they are also WAY too hard to install.

Easy to install, but you have to get the shaft out of the bore first. Don't forget to synch the throttle rods too!

???? You must be getting Jaguar OEM rubber ones....some A/M one's are ROCK HARD and will not "give" in the least to go on smoothly. If you have a "tip" to install those that would probably be more helpful then..."easy to install" It's obvious to most you have to pull the rod since the squared off end goes on the inside and would be impossible to go on w/o the rod out of the way. Not trying to offend just saying all throttle bush's are not created equal and the A/M one's are not the same as the O/E ones. Cleco pliers would probably do the trick.

No, I use the aftermarket ones from Worldpac or IMC. If they are that hard, send them back. I get sick and tired of reproduction parts that are made poorly. You should not have to fight to get them in. I'm not offended, I was just surprised that it's an issue.

Thumbs up Jaguar Bushing C34388

I just used the ordinary rubber grommet 7/16 size and it works and easy to install coz its a real ruvbber. But if you're looking for the real one you have to get it from the dealer. I believe that's the rubber one and the cost is $ 17 bucks ... lolz
