Default Cam Cover Refurbish

Quick question just replaced my cam cover, new plugs, installed coils with new gaskets hooked up all coil wires have one wire left and can't remember where it came from. Its a single black wire with a terminal end. Looks like it should go on number 6 coil under one of the screws. Didn't want to make a mistake and blow something electronic.
Thanks in advance.

You may want to send a picture....the camcover has no wire connections. It should just be the six coils.

Had to run to my garage. Right over top on number 6 coil.

Black wire - Ground (earth).
Maybe the PO's attempt to slow down the deterioration on the magnesium cam cover?

Default Wire

Would it be ok to attach it to the coil screw?

No! I'll try to figure this out tomorrow, its too dark and cold right now. It is original to the car. It is not an add-on. Judging by the wire size and color, it's a ground point.

I can’t seem to find it! I did spit that it is not a long wire. Can you tell me where the other end is connected?

No it’s in a harness. Got another tip. It goes under the number 6 coil touching the cam cover as a ground. It’s running with no leaks so far. Thanks for looking. Picture shows it attached

So I have a spare harness. I have circled the two ends of that wire. The first too
one is the one you were asking about, the other end is somewhere just before the harness connects to the injectors, which isn’t far.

If you happen to have some time, I suspect if you were to lift the plastic cover over the injectors, you will see the other end.

Im asking because my car obviously doesn’t have this - and I would like to add it.

Thank you!

I will get a light and take a good look for the other end. My tipster said make sure it goes under the gasket on the coil, so it’s in contact with the cover.
Thanks

I've only seen it on Honda that a cam cover is grounded. I think it is never wrong to ground cam cover. Has little contact with the bottom block because of the gaskets.

....doesnt need to be connected to run the car but doesnt hurt to make it right....

Thanks. I suspect its connected to one of the bolts that attach the fuel injector tray to the engine. It doesn't go far.

Default Cam Cover

I didn’t pull the harness apart but the other end of the black wire looks like it is attached to the last manifold bolt under the plastic cover for the injectors.
Hope this helps.😊
