Car can be started in ALL selector positions!?
Hi there!
I'm moving towards some faults my V12 has and remembered, after reading the "won't start in P" thread, that my V12 starts in ALL selector positions. No matter if P, R, N, D, 2 or 1. It will start in all positions.
I haven't got a user manual (factory handbook) for the car, so I can't tell if it is supposed to be so, but I doubt it is right.
The car is a 1989 (Marelli) V12 with the 3 speed slushomatic (GM TH400).
All other equal aged automatics I've had, wouldn't even budge, unless the selector lever was in P or N (my old Volvo 960 wouldn't even allow you to start in N!).
I remember seeing some switches in front of the selector lever (under the ski slope) like the micro switche on the kickdown cable... Do they have something to do with this?
