Default Carpets

I received my carpets from Aldridge’s today. There are a lot of parts and it looks very complicated. Anybody fitted a full set and got any advice?

Brinny
I looks complicated because of the bits for the sills which have to be glued on, and as I seem to remember so do the tunnel and rear floor (at least on the coupe). Also there are holes for the seat belts anchorages, hand brake, etc etc.
I Would start by just placing them dry on the floor until you have all the bits properly fitting like a jigsaw, then start gluing in the "lowest" ones. The overmats just sit on top of the basic carpet.
Do you have the sound deadening from your originals? If not you do need some, but I would not glue it down until you have all the carpet pieces understood; then glue the deadening, then the carpets.

Brinny,

I would definitely run the ssound deadening foam pads in the footwells as they fill a large gap to make the carpets sit level.

Good luck
Paul

Right will do thanks. Does the sound deadening need glueing down too?

I've removed my driver side stuff so far. If I plan on not using OEM style carpet can those 2 brackets where the carpet clips into (near the pedals) can they be cut off flush?
