Default Cat eye headlamp covers

Anybody else have these on their car?
I got my quad headlamps+brackets+rings from a somewhat local Jaguar only shop with lots of parts car on the lot, and one happened to have these on them, which is why I picked the lights on that particular XJS for my conversion to quads. The shop owner said he'd never seen them before on any other car.

I figured they were a really rare official Jaguar option but an eBay search turned up lots of generic listings.
They're apparently a vintage custom appearance modification part, still pretty available.

I LOVE mine, just wanted to see if anyone else here has seen/had some.
I may buy a new set since mine are kinda rusty and beat up from sitting for years in the Texas heat/rain.

They look pretty cool. From 50s era.

Do you have a picture them mounted on your XJS?

Memory rekindled ! I recall similar devices here in the USA in that era for 7" standard at the time "sealed beams". The domestic ones at the time were semicircular, affixing to the top portion of the lamp. Claiming to limit glare???

I succumbed and put a pair on my 47 Ford. Different look, yes. Different pattern of illumination, not noticed....

My opinion: probably the most expensive way to reduce vision at night...

I have order a new set since these old ones have been a PITA to try to install into the lamp retainer rings, they are bent and dinged up and no longer perfectly round...
I will post a pic when I have my car modifications all finished (I believe this may be the LAST item on my list!?)
These have actually improved my night driving illumination! They 'sort' the light into more defined sections and limit it to shining only directly out front instead of throwing light all over as they did before adding them (these quad beams are almost impossible to get properly aimed and still be able to fit the bezels over them! Grrrrr).

Hmm, I set a set of quads up for a friend a couple of weeks ago. Took less than 10 minutes to do - with the correct tool. Of course, we have the assymetrical setup...

Perhaps my trim bezel lamp housings are warped from years of being on a car who's lamps were in a different adjustment? Who knows. They came with the set of brackets/rings from the donor car.
Just getting the bezels in place and lined up and fitting properly in what I am having so much annoyance with. For now I have left them off.
