I just recently bought a 1989 xjs convertible and the computer was giving false info. I did a reset to take everything back to zero, Have not driven since reset. My question is this, how long until it will give correct info D I need to drive it for awhile, Thanks

 

My computer in my convertible was giving odd information when I got the car. I replaced the fuel interface unit in the boot part no DAC2589 and this cured the problem. I don’t think these are available new. I just got a s/h unit off eBay.

It should start giving correct info right away. Clock, miles driven, instant MPG, for example.

Info regarding average speed or average MPG should also be correct right away but, naturally, averages are more meaningful as more miles are driven
