Grant, I dunno about you but I learned this the hard way, years ago. I was doing hose replacement as a small part of a much bigger project, with lots of engine parts removed. Only after the whole mess was reassembled did I realize I had positioned the clamps in such a way that they would be impossible to access in the future.

Same.

Way back, when I had the MK VII, my Dad tried to explain that, did I listen, hell no.

Never doubted him again, as a full weekend was lost redoing the clamps so access was possible, and that car had much fewer hoses than the V12, but the engine bay was TIGHT.

About the same time Beer O'Clock sunk in if I remember correctly.

Generic belt part numbers for anyone interested:

Water pump: Gates XL 9425

Fan: Dayco 13A0820C

Alternator: Not here yet.

AC: Not happening on this build. Compressor deleted.
