Is it normal to have a very loud crazy sound (best I can describe it) come from the boot latch when you lock the door using the key. All the locks seem to make a similar sound but the boot latch is extremely loud and more obnoxious. It echos across the street.

It locks and unlocks fine when I turn the drivers door key.

I don't fully understand the problem but locks shouldn't be that loud at all. Have you visually inspected the mechanism for something amiss?
