my 94 XJS came with 16" rims when I bought it. the spare in the trunk is a 15". the concern is if I have to use the spare on the rear could that cause problems with the differential?

 

Providing the tyre on the 15 inch rim is the the standard size as fitted by Jaguar on 15 inch rims on the earlier cars, and providing the tyres on the 16 inch rims are 225/60/16s, the rolling diameter is the same. Obviously only a get-you-home thing though.

 

If you blow a tyre on the rear, put the spare wheel on the front and the front on the rear. That will be best bet until you get it fixed.

 

The STATIC LOADED RADIUS is really the determining factor whether the wheels/sizes are compatible.

If the OD of both tires is within an inch its no issue. your not doing a road trip..

 

thanks, I figured that would be the case. I picked up a 16" jag wheel anyway now I just have to get a tire and I can ebay the original wheel and maybe break even.
