positraction
My understanding is that all XJSs had limited slip diffs. I've heard anything to the contrary. The Jaguar XJS parts catalogs make no mention of non-limited slip differentials

POSITRACTION is a trademark of POSITRACTION, INC.. Filed in January 28 (2013)
Jaguar never used a Positraction.
Jaguar did use THORNTON POWER LOCK and possibly other manufacturer's limited slip differentials.
I guess people use a common name for similar products like HOOVER for a vacuum cleaner or XEROX for a copy.

As Doug has mentioned it seems all XJS's had P-lok.
And some XJ12 vehicles had them. Multiple gear ratios, but the main ones are 2.88, 3.31 and 3.54
Harder to get from a NON XJS but they do come up.
Not sure on the six cylinder, excepting the fact that all of the inline 3.6L manual cars from the XJS ran a 3.54 P-Lok.

I'll go a step further and boldly (and I think correctly!) assert that all V12 sedans had limited slip until the X300 cars....where traction control was installed instead, at least for the USA market.

If we are talking the Series III sedans, the answer is it depends. For the USA market, none had limited slip. For Canada, the base XJ6 had an open differential, and the higher trim Soveriegn had limited slip. The Vanden Plas V12 always had limited slip. For the UK market I believe it was optional on the XJ6, optional for the 6 cylinder Sovereign 4.2 and standard on all V12 and Daimler cars.
The X300 DID have limited slip diffs in ALL V12 and ALL Supercharged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The XJ40 and X300 were almost identical and can be interchanged with minor bolt thread modifications.
Some other X300 were offered with limited slip as well as some XJ40.
The X308 was fitted with an INLINE (non-offset) diff with NO provision for limited slip.
ALL XJ-S cars fitted as well as ALL 'E'-Types.

the original USA LSD , was 1958 Corvette, manufactured by DANA , and any Jag with the DANA LSD final drives ,series 44 , the clutch discs will interchange with GM discs!
a better design clutch pack than Jag , GM setup uses a Belville spring plate, puts a little more Bias on corners, altho wet weather can be educational!
works great in snow and ice , at low speeds both wheels have equal traction, where without B spring it takes more torque to actuate the limited clutch pack!
some may have noticed in snow(YIKES), the torque can alternate from side to side , wig/wag! it locks and unlocks!
