Resolution to 1995 Jaguar XJS alarm problem:

This was perplexing to say the least, because I could only work on the problem with the 7.5 fuse loaded that controlled the alarm, and the alarm was sounding. After disconnecting the wire at the sounder, I utilized the sequence described in this Jaguar Forum to reprogram a Jaguar remote. I only had to do it one time and the headlights stopped flashing. The remote was also once again functioning. I reconnected the sounder and the alarm problem was solved.

What made this hard was not being able to calmly work on the problem while the alarm was sounding, and having a lot of difficulty in quieting the alarm with the 7.5 amp fuse in place.

Thanks to my advisors as I worked through this. All the information I needed was in this forum.
