Default DIY for cps

Looking for a diy to replace my crankshaft position sensor. I’ve heard /read it’s possible to replace from the top.95 xjs 4.0

It is indeed possible to do from the top. You will be working in the blind however. I'm not sure there's an easier way. From below certainly wouldn't make anything easier.

If you know where it is, you'll have to feel around for the single 8mm bolt that holds it in. Make sure you unplug it before you send your litle socket wrench in there to remove the bolt.

It's easier than it looks. Once you do it the first time, it will get easier and easier.

Thank you Vee, I saw that video but seeing it again was quite helpful. That guy is great. I have the part now just waiting on better weather. we’ve been going from spring back to winter to spring here in Maine. Very frustrating. I report back after the install
