Does anyone know what these are?

Hi all,

These look like miniature microphones mounted on the front door interior pillars, both left & right.

Seems strange on a 1984 vehicle with no Bluetooth or handsfree devices or anything.

Has anyone seen these before or can I remove them?

They are on both sides which is quite odd for a hands-free kit ?

Confirmed, I had a car when I lived in the UK with exactly two of those fitted and they were for the alarm. I seem to remember when the alarm was activated the faintly glowed red - but not 100% sure as it was a long time ago.
