Default Door Panel and Plinth? Removal-'89 Conv

I need to remove the interior door panels. There is one fastener I can't get to. It seems to be behind the front of the armrest where it curves into the panel but there are no screws evident.
How do I access this?
Also, I need to remove the body piece (plinth?)that houses the back up lights. Screws are straight forward, but it doesn't seem the hole is large enough for the connector to slip thru. Don't want to cut wires.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Default

Armrest: the chrome cap slides back over the leather of the armrest. Once you've wiggled it back, you'll find a screw.

Not sure about the backup lights.

Default Plinth removal

It turns out that when the grommet is removed from the trunk the hole is large enough to get out the wiring connector.
Off to the body shop now.
