Default RE: door panels

hi, my thoughts are that mileage is a relative matter, sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't. I never buy a car on mileage alone...though one thing is for sure: Mileage speaks loud and clear. A well cared-for car with high mileage will let you know, as it appears to be your case. A car that has not been cared for will be even more obvious. So relax, sounds like you got yourself a good car. Change the oil and filter at least 4 times a year, every 3 months or sooner if you drive it long distances or lots of stop and go driving.

I too, bought a car in San Francisco, (Oakland actually), 3 years ago, my second Jaguar, a 1965 'S' type with a wonderful history, in pristine condition. Seems like the Bay Area climate preserves cars well, considering mine lived all its 40+ years in Oakland and San Francisco. The odometer showed 83k miles when I flew there to pick it up, but do you think I believed it? Speedometers can be replaced, or turned back, and it wasn't until the Seller produced a carefully maintained file of records dating back to 1984 when he bought it, that I realized the mileage was real. The car brought me home all the way to Nashville Tennessee, Where I lived until 2006, 2,916 miles and 4½ days and nights of pure bliss! I just drove and drove that car, sleeping in rest stops until I got to New Mexico where I decided to spend the night at the local Inn to get a hot shower and a decent night's sleep.

Door panels: No they shouldn't be loose, you might get your fingers behind them and gently pull out to see if the clips release easily, if so, hit the panel with the side of your hand with a closed fist to make the clips go in flush. I use a rubber mallet covered with a clean towel so the vinyl will not be damaged.

good luck!

Default Time warp

What's going on?

I woke up, made coffee, went out into the patio, petted the cat, checked the X27 forum, and its 2007.

I don't remember running the time machine this morning, maybe I was somnambulating. Anyone else from the future here?

Edit: sorry to bring this post from the past back to the top. Earlier, the entire front page ( other than stickies posts ) was all stuff from 2006-2007 for me. When I tried posting a new thread my new post went to the end of some old thread too. Weird.
