Driver side window problem
A while back my drivers window on my 1990 XJS V12 would not work... it was down and wouldn't go up. So I saw a video on You Tube on how to take the switches apart and clean the carbon build up out of them. I did that and it started working just fine... switches had a lot of black buildup on the contacts. The paint was all worn off my window switches though and they didn't look good so I ordered two new ones. They came the other day and I put them in and now the drivers window won't go up again. I have checked both switches with the passenger side window and both switches work just fine. Everything else on the door works... mirror controls... light... etc. Anyone else ever have this problem?
Thanks
Thanks
Sorry I have to ask but have you tried listening for the motor trying to go while pressing the switch? Its a very very faint electrical sound, before you start tearing the entire assembly apart it may just be that the window is physically stuck.
