Ethernet plug in XJS?

Default Ethernet plug in XJS?
I removed the ski slope for refinishing and found this plug under the console. Anyone know what it's for?

It's the connector for the telephone handset that was an option on your model year.

Clearly it is the port for plugging your Jag onto the internet, allowing you to get the latest updates. It had to use an Ethernet port, as wireless standards hadn't been developed yet and USB was barely in the works.

You HAVE updated your Jag to version 5.0.4, right?

I'm still running the final beta release.
Waiting for them to release a Mac version!!!
