Default Facelift Paint Fading on Trunk

I have a 1996 XJS in HFB, or Brooklands/British Racing Green. When I bought it in 2014, used, it has some paint issues on the trunk. The clearcoat had been eaten away and it was going to need some work. I did eventually get the car resprayed, and now I'm noticing the clear coming up on the trunk....same spot. No other paint issues.

I've noticed that this is a common sore spot on the XJS paint. Is there something that can be done to prolong the life of the clearcoat here....I'm hoping there's something I can do to fix it before it gets much worse.

Vee,

Did they completely strip the boot of all paint and then prime, and base coat it before the lacquer was applied? IMLE, if you don't remove all the paint first, the problem just comes back.

I don't think it was taken back down to bare metal. It was sanded and primed for sure, but I'm not sure it went all the way down to bare metal.
