My 95 has fogs on them and the previous owner replaced them and put ones with amber lenses. Did the factory put these on - and if so - what brand and what colour lenses?

They are Hella like the ones on my xjs , in the signature picture. They are either clear or yellow (yellow lenses only fitted in France, but I know a couple of guys who like that look better and have tracked a pair down)

 

Great to know that yellow is not incorrect - will check tonite to see what brand they are.

Whaddya use for mounting brackets? I have a pair of Hellas all wired up and ready to be mounted. I want to use the factory tapped holes in the bumper and will make a pair of brackets to fit...if I have to.

 

I switched to yellow hella lights and tucked them behind the grill to keep me from knocking them off at curbs. ill post pictures in a minute

 

I just checked - The lights are Bosch/yellow and there is a set of Bosch in the trunk with the clear lense. Either someone bought replacements or they came with the Bosch (housing is black plastic). I do notice that some XJSs in photos show no fogs - was this an option (either dealer installed or factory)?

 

For your 95 the only option where the Hella lights, like these:

Sadly some people have lost their minds and think they can make a 1000% profit on XJS NOS parts (as if they where XK150 parts) and charge 900-1000 dollars for a pair of the fogs..Recently I sold an extra new pair I had (exactly like the ebay person is selling) to another member for 300.00 dollars, so if you watch out, you will probably find them at a normal price.

Thanks for the "Tip". I have them on my watch list! If I don't win the pictures are good enough to used for making patterns to make my own brackets.

 

I'm using Hella 450 with clear covers on my XJS. Got them here Hella 450 Rectangular

They're not exactly the same dimensions as the original (a little taller) but otherwise appear original-ish. They mount up just like the factory ones did, no extra parts required. Can't beat the price.

 

Thanks for the clear picture of NOS lights. I got my car safetied yesterday to change the ownership the mechanic would not clear the car because the fog lights did not work( they were not wired up) but they would safety the car if I removed the lights - which we did. I checked and Currently Hella has the 450 and the 550 lights but they are of different dimensions and the stock NOS lights seem to be a different shape. I will put on a set of 450s until I can find a nice set of originals at a reasonable price.
