Fuel fail on trip computer
My 1988 3.6 Jaguar XJS's trip computer says FUEL FAIL on the screen. I turned on ignition and then turned off again, I wait 5 seconds and it showed me the fuel fail code that is FF 8. I searched for the fuel fail codes on aj6 engines and I found that the fuel fail number 8 is for air temperature sensor.
Someone knows where is the air temperature sensor in the Jaguar XJS 3.6? Or I am wrong with the fuel fail code diagnostic?

I would check the connector on the IAT sensor it is on the elbow after the MAF.
The IAT is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor, meaning resistance drops as temperature rises. Look up the ROM and it should tell you somewhere what the values should be for normal operation, you can check the wiring by placing a resistor across the terminals on the plug on the wire side and see if the code goes away.
