fuel filter / charcoal canister
Looking for ideas to source a replacement fuel vapor filter / charcoal canister for a 1990 XJS V12. Regular aftermarket suppliers no longer have them.
I read on here that pre 1988 and some non USA models did not have them. Has anyone removed one and re-hooked the lines without the filter?
Any ideas of non OEM possible replacement brands which fit?
Anyone know the correct part number if I try to source a used one?
Thanks, Steve

Steve,
is it part 21 on here?

If so, there's a thread I found here that implies it's nothing special:

yes part number one is the part I need ... but this same link comes up from multiple jag dealers ... I call and they no longer stock them. The system is outdated. It shows the parts (sometimes with a price) but the system is not updated so no luck ... and it does not show the OEM number so I'm reluctant to buy used online just on the visual

Steve,
The Jaguar parts system should be fine. If the part is NLA, or currently out of stock, then it says so, And it's updated daily. (I know a number of the people at Jaguar's Classic Division). So you can see that CAC3814 is NLA (it has been for some years). But at least you now have the original Jaguar part number. If you now start doing some detective work, you might find a NOS on ebay, or with some more digging, you might the OE manufacturers and their proprietary part number.
I guess that's the joy we have in running classic cars! The joy of parts hunting!
Good luck
