my convertible has the fuel warning light on permanately at the moment. nothing strange there I hear you all say , but the guage has been tested and working ok. so can anyone tell me how much fuel in the tank is needed to turn this light off ?or do I need a new sender unit.? there is currently just less than six british gallons in the tank. would this be enough to turn the light of do you think or is it a new sender?many thanks for help in advance

 

On a coupe about 2 gallons turns off the light. If you can get to the sender, pull off the lead that does the light, if the light goes out, you know it is the sender at fault.
