Default Fuel Sending Unit

My fuel gauge isn't working, I know why from the picture. Please advise which wire goes where. Black on top? Green on top?

I may be mistaken, but I don't think it matters, it measures resistance so it can go either way. If you plug it in and it works...great! If it doesn't, try it the other way!

Jamey is right, doesn't matter.... I just wonder why the wires are pulled off in the first place ? These connectors usually don't just fall off.... has the car had any work done on the fuel tank ?

I am having my Jaguar 04 XJ8 fuel gauge reading full tank and then after driving for 30 minutes or so it goes all the way down and reads low fuel and it comes back up after a while but only this happens when I fill up my tank at the gas station. Any advise guys of what is going on ?

Is it the fuel pump or the fuel sending unit?
Car runs fine and not engine light
