Default Help finding fresh air intake to heater/ac unit-1996 XJS 4.0

I have removed the small grill just beneath the wipers but found no opening into the cabin. Can any of you definitively state where the intake is? Thanks

There is an intake each side, going directly into the blower unit each side. The blower unit has a flap which will be closed when the car is switched off. The aperture (closed by the blower flap) is each side above where the passenger's and driver's shins would be. If you get a mirror and look to each side of the wiper aperture (wiper unit removed) you will see them on the horizintal surface.

Greg, Thanks for the reply. I have removed the wiper unit and didn't see the openings. Again removed the grill Friday and still didn't see the openings to the inside of the car. Are you sure this is true for a 1996 XJS? If you are sure, I will again remove the grill and wiper unit. I ddn't use a mirror to look. Are the openings obstructed from being visible from just looking down into the aperture? Thanks for your patience.

Yes, the openings are each side of the bit of bodywork that holds the wiper mechanism, about 6 inches each side of the wiper 'bin'. You have to look sideways and then down, hence the mirror.
