Apologize in advance. I did a thread search but came up empty. Looks like the thingy that connects the trunk latch to the trunk opener button (I suck at terminology) is broken. Looking for instructions on how to install and where to get one.
I removed the back license plate and there was a hole so I got the trunk open.

The casting is broken. It is either fabricate something or go to a breakers yard, or look on Ebay UK, or try a specialist breaker like Just XJS:

Im not sure that can help, since it appears your metal casting part has broken…I think? I can’t quite make out the problem.
