What hose is this? Power Steering?

I guess it needs to be replaced?

It's a 96 AJ16, on the drivers side of the radiator fan (which you can see).

Engine oil cooler hose. I had both replaced a couple of years ago.

If it is the engine oil cooler hose, go very carefully when you take it apart. The steel pipe ends are notorious for corroding with the alloy oil cooler attachment bosses. I would say that in over 90% of cases when you try and disconnect the pipes from the cooler, the cooler ends up getting destroyed and you have to buy a new cooler. But then neither the metal nor the rubber pipes are now available new, so you get really stuck!

So, if the leak is just in the rubber pipe and not related to the metal pipe, think carefully about your options before you start. Some options are:

- considering cutting out the damaged section of rubber pipe and getting a bespoke short section made with suitable joining to the remainder of the pipe.

- consider removing the whole oil cooler setup. I don't know what weather you experience but you might decide (as many UK owners do when this happens) that you can live without it. After all the same AJ16 engine in the XJ6 was installed without an oil cooler. In that installation, Jaguar fitted a small bypass block with small metal valves (pipes) in place of the feed and return pipes on the oil filter connection block. NLA new, but they turn up all the time on ebay for about £40. If you buy one of these, I'd suggest changing the four rubber O-rings which are still available cheap from Jaguar.
