It is time to decide what color I am going to paint my XJS. I do not want to go back to Coronet Cold, because my wife thinks it is a "retirement" color, plus it makes me think of what a rusty pile my car is. So new life, new color, what do you suggest!?

 

Look at late model cars for some interesting color choices. Ford Ingot Silver is a good choice to go with most interior colors. Mine is actually a 2011 Honda color called Polished Metal Metallic.

I actually seriously considered going with the old Jaguar Dark British Racing Green and almost with I had, just to be a little more retro. It would have stood out nice with the silver XK wheels and all the stainless on my car.

But there are some amazing Red's, blue's, green's and others on newer cars. Just keep your eyes open.

 

I like silver shades, they can never be wrong and always work. I also like shades of orange, but I am afraid it would turn my car in a mix of SEMA and ghetto.

 

Check this out, I like few shades from the new color collection, but want your opinion.

 

i wanted racing green, but xjs's dont look good in green. i would go black all the way. if i gadnt got called into work that day, i wouldve had a good running black 89 instead. what a bummer.
black with your wheels and blacked out windows = perfection.

 

If I was to go black, I'd do dark gray, like the honda color was mentioned above.

 

I really prefer silver as well. My '90 has a paint code of "MDF" and that's what I'm going to repaint her...

the panels that aren't faded look GREAT.

 

I like Flamenco Red (I would though, wouldn't I).
or maybe Garnet mettallic or black crystal metallic or or or

 

My wife and I have picked Brickyard Red: here
This will allow me to keep engine bay factory color for now, being somewhat similar.

 

Shiny black XJS with a tint is nice :-)

The link doesn't work. Anyway my car is Signal Red not my favorite colour but still quite nice for an XJS.

The Flamenco red is nice as well as classy I also like the Gun metal grey not sure what the colour name is though
