Help Needed
Hi Julie
A link is a 'Clickable Shortcut' to either a Website or a Page of a Website or could be a link to an Advert on the Page of a Website (just a few examples)
So wherever you advertise your Car, if you decide to advertise it
Then you could copy and paste the 'Shortcut Link' to your Advert on this Forum, so that anyone interested could go direct to your Advert without having to 'Trawl Through' loads of others
(Q) Where do you find the link?
(A) When you place your advert, the page that its on will be displayed in the Browser Bar at the Top
Left Click and drag the Cursor right to left to Highlight it
Then Right Click on the Line you Highlighted (while it is Still Highlighted) and then Right Click 'Copy' in the drop down box
At this point you have Created a Shortcut Link 'That you cannot see!' because it is on an invisible thing called 'The Clipboard'
(Q) How do you add this invisible link to a Post on this Forum so that we can all see it?
(A) Left Click on the Globe Symbol with the Chain 'Link' on it (a highlighted http://) will come up, so hit backspace to remove it
Then Right Click in the box where you just removed the Highlighted (http://) and then Right Click on Paste in the Drop Down Box
And the Link will appear in your Post wherever you left you Cursor
This 'Link' will appear in your Post in 'Blue'
Then when we click on this 'Blue Link' it will take us Straight to your advert or the page of the Website on which it appears
Example: This is a 'Link' to 'Bring a Trailer' https://bringatrailer.com

Hi Julie
In that case it looks like you do indeed have something 'Special' a 'Classics Collection' last of the line pre-facelift
Quite possibly one of the most sought after XJS's ever made and so, so, so, worth having repaired!
Where She could be fetching 'Megabucks' on 'Bring a Trailer' where its up to the buyer to do all the work of arranging Collection
If She were a Right Hand Drive and here in the UK then 'I would walk on broken glass to buy her' but would probably have to join a very long queue!
Don't let the fact She's damaged make you think She's worthless, cause She's not and that's a very easy repair for a Body-shop to do
Damaged or not that Car could fetch 'Serious Money'
Alex

As I have always said, and I quote... If there is a will, there is a way. We will get this car back to it's original beauty.
Thank you so much for all ur input and making me feel welcomed, when I feel like a fish out of water, lol. Julie
Hi Julie
Am I hearing that you may have had a change of heart and so are going to have her repaired after all!!!!
If that's so then that would be amazing! as you've got something really special there, as with the 'e' type, that train has already left the Station and just look at the prices they are fetching now
It really shouldn't cost that much, as that is a very easy repair for a Body Shop to do, so don't let them bowl you over with any crazy prices as they could have that sorted out in just a couple of days, even at £100 per hour
I would be looking at £2,000 max for labor plus the parts
A good Secondhand Bonnet/Hood in the UK on ebay about £200
And if I could afford it, I'd give you the money myself and I wouldn't want it back either!
That's how much that I want you to do this, otherwise you'd be selling her for Scrap which would be a very sad end for such a fabulous Car
But I have just had an even better idea!
In the UK there is a TV programme called CAR S.O.S. where they rescue Classic Cars for deserving people and restore them as new! before presenting them back to the owner as a big surprise and they haven't done a Jaguar XJS yet
They normally do these programmes in the UK but as your Car is an easy repair, then it could spawn a Series of CAR S.O.S (USA)
Or maybe you already have a Similar Programme in the USA?
Its got to be worth a shot, here is the link to the production company https://www.renegadepictures.co.uk/c...-sos_1128.aspx

Thanks in part you this forum I think I may have caught the Jag bug lol, or should I say the Jags got me. Hahaha
Making plans to get the car here where we can repair and pamper her.
She is my friends pride and joy. I could see the pain in his eyes at the thought of basically giving her away in this condition.
So if u wish to start a collection, hahaha j/k... Please don't go taking me serious. We will begin to save, do crafts, make plates, whatever it takes to get him and my ex hubby(my best friend) back to Jersey by August, so Dino can go see his doctors, before the bad weather begins up there. Rent a u-haul and haul everything back here, including his XJS and start to work on her.
I thank you all that have responded with ur love for these beauties.
Everyone here truly makes a difference... With ur wisdom, and awesome at giving a helping hand.
Dino to me is a living example of what a true survivor is, not to mention, how hard and cruel life can be to Special Needs people who have no one to speak for them.
I am honored to have befriended him when I did. After having a 25 year career with the as a Union Carpenter in New York and his own construction Co. his neck was broken, by a drunk driver. Leaving him with 2 c-mobiles in his neck and 4 fuses discs in his back, as well as long and short term memory loss. He has survived Graves Disease, Thyroid Cancer and has been left on his own since the passing of his mom in 09.
Angered by dissapoinments in his life and alone when we met three years ago. He has truly blossomed in the year he has been here.
His outlook on life now is so different. Filled with joy, kind, and loving he is. A true Italian gentleman, still standing strong after so much, to me is someone worthy of all my help, no matter who it is.
My apologies for the ramble, but like his car, he too, is a Classic in his own right. Julie
